*Tea and Tennis!

Last Sunday I sat in front of the television, along with the majority of the nation, and watched the debacle that was the England v Italy football match. All I can say is, that was 2 hours of my life I'll never get back. Meh!

Moving swiftly on and not being one to brood I have now switched my patriotic loyalties to Wimbledon and I'm hoping we do better in the tennis this year?!

During the football my snacks and beverage of choice were pizza, crisps, chocolate and diet cola (what can I say. It was a long match) Obviously, Wimbledon requires sustenance of a more sophisticated nature so out came the strawberries and creme fraiche and as I don't drink champagne (I know! Weird right?) it can only be my favourite earl grey tea, served without milk and sometimes a thin slice of lemon! Not an obvious combination, but trust me Earl Grey and more specifically the bergamot in it, go perfectly with the sweetness of strawberries, try it, it's incredibly refreshing and the aroma from the tea is amazing.

If you are also a fan of the UK's finest drink you can buy tea online and some lovely tea gifts too. (Check out the red spotty teapot! Cute!) If you're already an earl grey tea lover, you could try some of the other blends, variety being the spice of life and all that!

So as I sit here in all my sophistication(!) with my strawberries and tea I'm thinking, if we lose the tennis, I'll have to pin my hopes on the Olympics.

I'm sure we can win a gold in something, maybe ..... curling??!

  1. I've been having so much fun being able to watch the tennis this year - the bonus of being currently unemployed! Totally agree - Wimbledon requires tea, especially Earl Grey - though I've been opting for the Orange Blossom stuff from Twinings which is fabulous. Loving your strawberries with creme Fraiche rather than cream! :-)

We'll definitely be winning a gold in something! Being a horse loving sort I'm hoping our Eventing, Dressage and Showjumping teams will do us all incredibly proud! :-)

    1. Yep, Wimbledon definitely requires tea, you're right! Must try the Orange Blossom sounds delicious.
I much prefer creme fraiche on strawberries, fresh cream doesn't have quite as much flavour I don't think!?

If we don't win gold I'm emigrating !!! :D xx

  2. Don't get me started on the farce that was England v Italy. I'll never stop.

I must be part of the 1% of the population that doesn't like tea but those strawberries look yum :) x
